What you need to get started
- HomeMate Smart Fan Retrofit Kit and a Fan.
- Phone must be connected to 2.4 Ghz WiFi network only (and not 5 Ghz).
- Location should be ON.
- Mobile Bluetooth should be ON.
Download app and Register account
- Download HomeMate Smart App from App Store or Google Play.

- You can scan the QR code below to download the HomeMate Smart App:
You can also search “HomeMate Smart” in either App Store or Google Play to install the App.
2. Open App and register your account.
3. Create Home in Home Management Setting.
4. Set location.
Steps To Connect Smart Fan Retrofit Kit With Fan
Step one
Open the box and take out motor and blades of the fan. Perform the following steps as given in the image.
- Remove salty screw from motor shaft and insert plastic cap.
- Insert Down rod over shaft, aligning holes to insert bolts and safety screw.
- Tighten fully the nut using spanners. Insert split ping an hole of bolt and bend both the ends on opposition.
- Insert the bolt spring and plain washer provided with shackle. Assemble as shown.
- Compact loose copper strands of supply valve. Unscrew terminal block screw. Insert copper strand and screw to make connection firm and secure.
- Use flexible 16 strand twisted supply wire (40 cm long) and insert through Downrod hole carefully.
- Insert canopies on rod and redirect supply wire through hole on rod as shown. Top canopy will have 'POLYCAB' Logo, Adjust bottom canopy lo maintain sufficient gap from motor Cover.
- Fix blade on motor with screw, washer and separator.
Step Two
Place the smart controller in the top canopy and connect the output wire coming from the controller with the motor of the fan. Please ensure the output wires go through the down rod/ pipe to make it look neat.
Step Three
Perform the following steps as given in the image.
- Insert shackle on ceiling hook. Lift complete fan assembly and align the hole of down rod with shackle, carefully.
- Insert the bolt in aligned holes. Insert washers and nuts, tighten the nuts firmly, insert and bend split pin to make the assembly secure.
Step Four
Change the text to - Ensure power supply is switched off and connect the input wire of smart controller to the main supply at ceiling rose or in a terminal block. Make earthing connect shackle bolts.
- Ensure power supply is switched off. Connect the wire to the supply mains at ceiling rose or in a terminal block. Make earthing connection with shackle bolts.
Step Five
Perform the following steps as given in the image.
1. Add text in image 1 - Place the Smart Module inside the copy of Fan. Make sure that your IR Receiver and/or sensor is stuck on outside of canopy with double sided tape.
2. Change text in image
- Move up and position the top canopy to cover ceiling connection. Maintain sufficient gap between ceiling and canopy. place the smart module inside the copy of fan. make sure that your IR receiver and/or sensor is stuck on outside of canopy with double sided tape.
- Ensure supply wire and capacitor wire are routed properly away from motor cover and make sure bottom canopy is positioned with sufficient gap from motor cover.
- Be swept away by the refreshing aura of your assembled HomeMate Smart fan.
Step Six
Here is the sketch of the ceiling fan + smart controller connection. Please ensure that no
regulator is connected to the fan.
Pairing of HomeMate Smart Fan Retrofit Kit with HomeMate Smart app can be done through 2 process flow in app. If Process 1 fails, try Process 2 :
Process 1: Auto-detection using Bluetooth
Steps to connect HomeMate Smart Fan Retrofit Kit with HomeMate Smart App
- Connect your mobile with home Wi-Fi(2.4Ghz).
- Bluetooth and location must be On.
- After completing the installation of the HomeMate Smart Fan Retrofit Kit using above method.
- Switch on the fan from switchboard
- Make sure it is not rotating, if rotating turn it off by clicking off button on remote.
- Press the buttons on remote in the given sequence (On-1-2-3-4-5).
- You will hear a beep sound after 5 secs. This means device is ready to configure.
- Open the HomeMate Smart App.
- Tap '+' at the top right corner or 'Add device' button on the Home screen.
- It will automatically show the nearby device ready to be paired.
- Tap on "Go to add"
- Tap '+' at the top right corner to add the device.
- Enter Wi-Fi Password then tap on "Confirm".
- It will connect to the HomeMate Smart Fan Retrofit Kit.
- After adding you can edit the name of the Smart Fan Retrofit Kit.
- Tap on pencil mark located after Smart Fan Controller.
- Type the desired name like "Smart Fan control" tap on "Save" then tap on "Done" located on the Top right corner.
Process 2: Using Search device Wi-Fi process flow:

- Switch on the fan from switchboard
- Make sure it is not rotating, if rotating turn it off by clicking off button on remote.
- Press the buttons on remote in the given sequence (On-1-2-3-4-5).
- You will hear a beep sound after 5 secs. This means device is ready to configure.
- Open HomeMate Smart App.
- Tap '+' at the top right corner or 'Add device button' window.
- Select Smart Fan.
- Make sure EZ mode is selected on top right corner.
- Make sure that Wi-Fi Indicator LED flashes quickly and then tap "Confirm indicator rapidly blink" to go to next step, If the indicator is not flashing quickly, press the buttons on remote in the given sequence (On-1-2-3-4-5). You will hear a beep sound after 5 secs. This means device is ready to configure.
- Select Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz and type the password then tap on "Next"
- Add successfully message appears once device is connected.

Terms And Conditions
- Any fan purchased from HomeMate distributors / dealers / retailers will be warranty for a period of 1 year, against manufacturing defects.
- Free repair services will be provided if a fan is found faulty. However, this must be within the
warranty period, and must be dispatched to our service center ( along with the original bill and
this card.) - Part broken or damaged after installation, will not be repaired free of cost. They will be changed as per the company's list price*
The Same Warranty Will Not Be Applicable In The Following Case
In case of damage to life or property, because of improper installation, contrary to the strict instructions provided in the gift box packing.
The Above Warranty Shall Not Apply
- If installation of fan with its accessories is not performed as per the instructions provided on the gift box packing.
- If the fan is damaged in an attempt to repair it or because of negligence on the customer's part.
- If an electronic Stepless regulator has been used.
- Power supply other than 220/240V, 50 Hz has been used. For example; spurious inverter & local
generator. - If damage caused due to abnormal and hostile environments.
NOTE
- Under no circumstances will the value of the warranty exceed the product's cost price. warranty
exceed the products cost price. - It is recommended to inspect & ascertain at regular intervals ( every 6 months) whether the
installation at ceiling, wall, motor & down rod, blade fitting and safety guard assembly etc. is firm
secured - This warranty does not cover ant kind of consequential damage
